Chronicles of the Design & Construction of Two Waterfront Hurricane Proof Dry Stack Modular Green Custom Homes
1. Villa Lagoon, Wilder Italian Style Home
2. Nasello Italian Style Home

DAC-ART Home Foundation

The form is built up to be 2 ft deep all around the pilings. The pour will be 2 ft deep and 5 ft wide. These first photos show the exterior forming, and the interior will get a form also. The entire perimeter of the house will be supported by a foundation that measures two ft deep and 5 ft wide.

Each piling will get drilled for 4 steel rebar rods, 2 in each direction. Rebar gets placed on top of this and is tied to the rods. All this will be encased in concrete.

In these photos you can see that the larger than usual footings are poured. The rebar inserted in the footing is to run up and through the hollow cavity of the DAC-ART wall blocks which will be lowered over the rebar. The DAC-ART walls for this hurricane resistant home will be quite heavy and require an oversized footing.
