Fourth Course of DAC-ART Man-Made Stone Blocks

Derek, our point man or block stacking supervisor, is living on site for added measure of security. Derek was with us when we began this project, he is now on another jobsite.

The stairs are starting to go up around the elevator shaft.

The texture of DAC-ART blocks includes small pin holes, striations of color, with a lot of variation.

The part of this wall that protrudes is actually a column that goes all the way up to the top. From the second floor, up, there will be just columns, no walls. This is true on the south, east and the west walls.

At this stage of construction, it is a bit like watching grass grow. If you miss going to the job site for a few days, you really can't tell if there is any progress being made. I am sure that once the house starts taking shape, this feeling will change.

The blue thing you see in the photo above right is a piece of German equipment that the builder thought might be useful to move from floor to floor to stack the blocks. Since it has no motorized motion, it turned out to not be very practical so we are not using it. It belongs to the builder.
