Porch Arches--Finishing Upper Porch--Mid-May  2007

The upper porch has a great view of the Gulf of Mexico. The arches are in place and the remaining filler blocks are being set and grouted. 

We had to figure out how to fill these voids where our blocks and arches meet. In some cases we made the grout lines wider than normal, which is acceptable in a rough type construction like this. If the gap were too big, we filled them in w/ hand cut DAC-ART pieces and depended upon the expertise of  Juan and Jose to patch to color , sand, and resurface these areas.
