These top three photos were taken Sat. Dec 30, 2006 by  Mike Rode who is the subcontractor setting the DAC-ART blocks on this job. Mike's company name is New Stone Builders and his motto is "Taking your Dreams, and Setting them in Stone". Mike is doing a great job, very meticulous and careful. Click the photo to see a bigger version. Going forward, we will have the larger images available by clicking the one shown.

16th course of dry stacked concrete blocks As you can see, we are up to the 16th course of blocks now. This mild winter (while the rest of the country seems to be freezing and  snowbound) has meant that we have been able to make continued progress on the exterior shell of DAC-ART blocks. These blocks will need no other exterior cladding. The beautiful block  interiors will probably be waxed for smoothness.
modular home construction using concrete dry stack blocks This photo and the one above show the stacked porches which face south, towards the Gulf of Mexico. The arched openings for the garage doors are visible.
Southern side of hurricane proof residence on Gulf of Mexico Notice the conduit and rebar extending out the tops of the blocks in these photos.

The building is really starting to take shape. Enough blocks are stacked now to see the nice variation in color tones, typical of natural stone products.
